I will dominate 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote next month's bout.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
